Key Responsibilities: Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain polybagging equipment, including auxiliary equipment such as inkjet devices, stackers, strappers, etc. Review job specifications to determine proper set up. Perform and direct make-ready tasks associated with the type of equipment to be operated. Examine materials for imperfections. Facilitate corrections and/or equipment adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work. Work in a safe manner supporting all safety initiatives. Clean, lubricate, and maintain the equipment, including periodic scheduled maintenance, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required. Maintain accurate records, coordinate with supervisors regarding production issues. Provide leadership to equipment team toward achievement of safety, quality and production goals. Participate with cross training; train and develop others in an effective, positive manner. Perform other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned. Required Skills Minimum Requirements: Previous experience in the operation of binding line or other finishing equipment, or equivalent manufacturing machine operation experience. Excellent safety record in prior manufacturing positions. Ability to effectively lead a team. Solid mechanical skills. Basic typing skills to assist in the use of the computer. Experience in the operation of various hand tools as needed to perform necessary tasks. Ability to read, comprehend and act from detailed written communication in various formats. Ability to perform basic math calculations including percentages. Must be capable of adapting to a constantly changing work situation and assuming personal responsibility for own actions. Must be willing to abide by department and division practices and standards (including shift rotation). Must be able to stand up to 11.5 hours with periodic breaks. Must be able to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move object Ability to perform the requirements of this position, with or without accommodation.
